When freshman move into their halls, they are terrified by the RAs. They hide from them, never greet, don’t make eye contact, walk quickly by them and show fear in their eyes when an RA says hi.

Long story short: ”Dorm” implies that the only purpose for the hall is to sleep. Our halls are meant for a lot more than just sleeping (Studying, socializing, learning, ect.). We use the term Residence Hall (or res hall for short) instead of dorm.
Freshman tend to over pack for college. They bring big boxes, little boxes, fat boxes, skinny boxes, tall boxes, short boxes and squeeze them all in a little car; don’t be that freshman.
